The movie is set in a hospital where "strange" people are sent. One of the older, gruffer patients, Onuki, is quite annoyed with the arrival of Paco. She is in the hospital due to a memory disorder- she can only remember the events of one day at a time. Each day she reads a pop-up children's book, and often asks Onuki to read to her. Each day it is a new story for her. Eventually, the two of them develop a friendship, and Onuki decides to enlist the help of the other people in the hospital to perform a play of the book, hoping it will help Paco. 傳說中的魔法繪本，你也想要讀一讀嗎？書中讀到的人物都會變成真的，跟你一起做朋友哦！！但是啊，裡面出現的壞人與壞運氣，也會變成真實世界的惡夢喔～一間全住著怪裡怪氣病人的醫院裡，某天住進了一位可愛的少女PACO（絢香．威爾森飾），但因為出車禍的關係，帕可只能維持一天的記憶，每天醒來就忘了昨天的事。也因此，她總是讀著親愛媽媽送的同一本繪本。同在醫院中的，還有一個非常任性的老頭，大貫（役所廣司飾）。大貫爺爺非常難接近，對任何人總是惡狠狠的大罵，也不准別人叫他的名字。不過，這麼難搞定的傢伙，卻在PACO住進來之後，開始有所改變… 自我中心的孤獨老人、有失憶症的可愛少女，還有那本很神秘的繪本故事書…會發生什麼令人歡欣鼓舞、發噱爆笑、卻又感動不已的奇蹟故事呢？
