This is story of life, based on redity. On October earthquake occured with a magnitude of 6.8 in the Yamakoshi (now called Nagaoka). Adog named "Mari" gave birth to three pups on the very day of the earthquake.

After the earthquake occurred and all of the people were evacuated to the devastation of nature, and greatly moved the residents by reappearing unharmed with her three pups after 16 days.

改编自真人真事， 2004年10月23日下午5时56分，新潟县发生6.8级地震。石川家的小孩优造及彩子，受了重伤被困在瓦砾中，就在此时他们听到了家中柴犬麻里的声音，牠更不顾安危，一边照顾自己的孩子「包」、「剪」、「揼」，一边叫唤优造和彩子给予他们生存的勇气。最后自卫队赶到把所以居民救了出来，可是却遗留麻里和三只小狗在灾区﹗在没有食物下，麻里仍然尽力守护着三只小狗，在避难所的彩子和亮太得知暴风雨快来临，两人决定开始展开他们的拯救计划！究竟麻里和小狗们可以获救吗？牠们跟石川家的家人可以团聚吗？
