MARCHEN AWAKENS ROMANCE ("Marchen" being German for fairy-tale) tells the story of Toramizu Ginta, a 14-year-old middle school student, who has had 102 dreams (so far) about the "land of Marchen". He spends his days playing rpgs on consoles or day-dreaming about "Marchen".

He is short, has no stamina and really bad eye-sight. His one true friend is classmate and childhood friend, the very cute Koyuki, who is truly interested in the amazing stories that happen to Ginta in his sleep. Ginta's favourite wish is to truly visit the land of his dreams, although his single-parenting mother drags him down to reality again and again. Ginta truly dreads growing up and losing the incredible land he has seen so often...
