Saiyuki Reload (最遊記RELOAD, Saiyuki Reload?) is a manga series by Kazuya Minekura, adapted into a 25 episode anime tv series of the same name and it is the second premise of the Saiyuki saga. The sequel to Saiyuki Reload is Saiyuki Reload Gunlock (最遊記RELOAD GUNLOCK, Saiyuki Reload Gunlock?), which is described in its own article. A prequel OVA called Saiyuki Reload: Burial was released in April 2007

The storyline of Saiyuki continues, and follows the adventures of Priest Genjyo Sanzo, Son Goku, Cho Hakkai and Sha Gojyo as they maintain their westward journey to stop the resurrection of the demon Gyumaoh. As the reputation of the Sanzo party precedes them, they continue to fight demon assassins at every turn, but they must also deal with increasing tensions within their group in order to defeat a powerful enemy. 玄奘三藏是河里飘来的弃儿，被金山寺的光明三藏法师抚养长大，也因此受尽了寺中僧侣的岐视。师父遇害使他的心灵受到了巨大打击，也由此养成孤僻叛逆的性格。三藏孤傲不羁，追求自由，不愿受到任何束缚，他想找到绝对的坚强和力量来守护自己重要的东西。他使用的武器是升灵枪，绝技为“魔戒天净”。

总是紧跟着三藏的孙悟空是500年前从石头中诞生的奇异生命体，使用与灵活身手十分相配的如意棒作武器。他个性极其单纯，思维方式也简单直接，顽皮而贪吃，但当他除下额头上的妖力制御装置后却会完全失去理智，心中充满破坏与杀戮的欲望，成为极其危险的人物。他惟一不设防并深深依赖的人就是三藏，因为那是抚平他百年孤独的“阳光”。
