The story takes place in a future where the human race has expanded and inhabits a multitude of planets in the universe with fantastic technology. Unsurprisingly, crime has grown alongside technology, and thus the GOTT, Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs, is formed as a sort of universal police force. Within this organization, there is a special (and secret) branch known as the ES Force (ES standing for "Encounter of Shadow-work"), consisting of twelve young people that possess amazing superpowers. Each ES member operates with another as a team, and the series' focus is a team of two low-level members, Éclair and Lumière. As the series progresses, they start to see the darker side of GOTT and its secrets. 故事的舞台与历史背景是公元25世纪，人类因为行星改造计划，而开始移住其它星系已经经过数个世纪了。透过空间跳跃之门相连结的移民星球，各行星间的独立自治体制也已经确立。


虽然经过了数次大型的星际间战争之后成立了「宇宙行星联合」，并统合了各行星国家，然而至今国家间的纷争依旧不断。


ES member是由GOTT之中精选出来，拥有特殊能力的特工人员所组成的非公开行动执行者。平时会妥善隐藏自己的真实身份，但是在进行任务时，则化身成能够完全发挥个人特殊能力的工作者。在星际之间，ES成员的存在和其惊人的特殊能力虽然众所皆知，但是有关他们的具体活动内容与个人情报却完全未公诸于世。


艾克蕾尔跟琉美艾尔在ES成员中算是低阶的C级成员，在第二话中出现的亚路薇与罗威潞可等人则是高阶的S级成员。似乎还有更高阶的G级成员，但目前相关情报还不清楚。


Kiddy Grade中的两位女主角-性格开朗直肠子的艾克蕾尔，与外表青涩但成熟冷静的琉美艾尔，正是GOTT中神秘的ES member特警之一。


从她们娇柔的外貌，完全无法想象艾克蕾尔是破坏力与速度超约的怪力少女，而琉美艾尔则是身负能与超级电脑匹敌的情报处理能力、还能从指尖放出光线操作各式电子设备的活电脑。当他们接到任务出去之后，故事就在观众的面前拉开了序幕...
