Despite being celebrated as a cultural icon in his native country, Miyazawa Kenji is still relatively unknown outside Japan. His stories and poems have inspired generations of Japanese children with fanciful yet thoughtful voyages from the real into the surreal, from the slowly industrializing Japan of the twentieth century into the oftentimes forgotten wonders of nature. Mention his name outside of Japan though, and you're likely to be met with a blank stare. Many overseas anime fans however, have had the fortune to see the 1985 animated version of his story GINGA TETSUDOU NO YORU (NIGHT ON THE GALACTIC RAILROAD) which was subtitled by Central Park Media. <贤治之春>是为了纪念宫泽贤治诞辰100周年（1896-1996）而计划拍的人物传记电视专题片，为了另作平能够有根好的表现张力，制作共识洁净了以往弓着的经验，决定将这个自传故事以数码技术制作成动画片，而负者为本片写剧本和执导本片的就是大家非常熟悉的河森正治。
