The Nightingale
The Emperor of China hears about the most exquisite songbird in the world which lives in his very own grounds. He sends his servants to look for the bird and bring him back to the palace, and indeed the beautiful song from the dull and insignificant looking bird brings a royal tear to his eye. The nightingale is the toast of the royal court, until one day the Emperor of Japan sends a gift of a jewel encrusted mechanical
nightingale. Now everyone agrees that this magnificent looking bird is much better than the real nightingale…
The Galoshes of Fortune
The young apprentice fairy is very excited because she has just invented a pair of magic rain boots that can make wishes come true for its wearer. She leaves the boots lying outside the Lieutenant’s house and sets in motion a sequence of events that quickly get out of control. A student goes back to the time of the Vikings. The Sergeant becomes a poet. The Watchman becomes the Lieutenant. And the little apprentice fairy learns that granting free wishes can get you into a lot of trouble.
Jack The Fool
Princess Hazel has exhausted every potential royal hand in all the neighbouring kingdoms. All the suitors were just so boring! So the contest for her hand has to be extended to … commonors. But the royal messenger insists, only those sufficiently educated and groomed would be considered. The Landgreen brothers, Jan and Hans, reckon they have a good chance since one can cite the corporation laws and the
other knows all the newspapers off by heart. All they have to do now is make sure that their brother Jack the fool doesn’t ruin it all for them.
