Bitter is the appropriate adjective for all the characters in Nyokei Kazoku. The story is lead by 35-year Yajima Fujiyo, the eldest daughter of a wealthy matrilineal family. Due to a short-term illness, Yoshizo passed away, leaving behind three daughters who all dislike each other, and a multi-billion yen estate. During the review of the will, a mistress named Fumino is revealed, who the family didn't know about. Fumino has an ally within the Yajima corporation - business associate Ono Uichi. Uichi is handling the estate but definitely does not deserve such trust, being involved in all sorts of backroom financial shenanigans.
