主人公间宫心十郎（和田正人饰演），表面上看是在医院做兼职打扫工作，其实真正的身份是殡葬化妆师。

由于各种原因去世的人，经过他魔术师一样的美妙技法，都恢复成生前完整鲜活的样貌。虽然人死不能复生，但是这个工作多少能够安慰死者的生前亲友，使活着的人的心灵得到救赎。乍看很诡异，可实际上是个充满温情和爱心的工作。主人公就是秉持着这样的想法，全身心地热爱着他的职业。

不过间宫也有个怪癖，就是每次接完case之后，托辞“怀念活人的身体触感”，总要去抱女人= =|||于是床伴换了一个又一个，是个人神共愤（？）的花花公子。但这样的花心帅哥唯独对房东的女儿小豆（篠原真衣饰演）下不了手，对于真爱小豆表现出的笨拙和不坦率又让人哭笑不得，多少原谅了他的不羁。

所以也有人将这部作品定义为“男主角工作性质特殊的浪漫爱情故事。
