该片由黄华麒出任导演，美发师陈开心（张学友饰）、服装设计师纪浩仁（莫少聪饰）和风水师赖布丁（周星驰饰）三个死党合伙开了一家新潮美发店，开业当天赖布丁（周星驰饰）和纪浩仁（莫少聪饰）前来剪裁，不料却与隔壁理发店老板祝先生（吴耀汉饰）发生争执，幸得店老板的女儿亚英（张敏饰）及时出现，才平息这场风波，三人皆被亚英的魅力所吸引，为赢得亚英的爱情，开始频频登门大献殷勤。一次晚餐聚会，三人酒醉后竟误与亚英同睡一室，导致亚英有了身孕。为与亚英在一起生活，三人争先恐后承认是自己所为。因三人血型相同，到底谁做了此事，医院也检查不出。亚英的父母决定考察三人的表现，再做定夺。为争当最佳女婿，三人展开了激烈的角逐……
