Bomb disposal expert Yeung Yat Sing (Cheng Kevin) returns from England to visit relatives and he comes across a grenade case by accident. , With his tactful and level-headed approach, Sing is highly appraised by Senior Chemist Ko Yin Pok (Au Yeung Chun Wah, Bobby) and is being invited to join the Forensic Division. In a little while, Sing becomes the division's rising star. By work, Sing gets back in touch with his long-lost best friend Koo Chak Sum (Lam Man Lung). Sum serves as a forensic writer and he is going to get married soon.

Accidentally Sum's fiance Lam Ting Ting (Chung Linda) is killed in an explostion and Pok's police girlfriend Leung Siu Yau (Mung Ka Wai, Yoyo) also loses the ability of holding a gun in the incident. Yau's duties are passed to Ma Kwok Ying (Sheh Charmaine) from the Narcotics Bureau. Both Sum and Sing find Ying extremely charming with her smart and unfathomable characteristics in case handling.

Integrated the laboratory techniques, logical reasoning and forensic knowledge, the trio strive to fight against crimes tremendouly. As they get to know each other more and more, the entangled triangle of love also starts to hinder their working relationship......

拆弹专家杨逸升(郑嘉颖)从英国回港探亲，无意碰上一宗手榴弹案，其冷静机警的处事手法深得高级化验师高彦博(欧阳震华)的赏识及鼓励，升终加入法证部，并迅即成为部门新星；升更与阔别十五年的沙煲兄弟--法医作家古泽琛(林文龙)重拾当年情，并替琛快成新郎而高兴。

可惜琛的未婚妻林汀汀(锺嘉欣)在一次爆炸案中不幸丧命，而博在重案组的女友梁小柔(蒙嘉慧)亦难逃一劫，丧失了持枪能力，其工作须交由毒品调查科的马帼英(畲诗曼)接手，由于英办案手法睿智及高深莫测，深深吸引着琛及升。
