金慧秀在影片中饰演三十出头的眼科医生申宰，与任职律师的丈夫韩诚俊和六岁女儿泰秀一起生活，表面上看来生活无忧，但申宰内心却感到非常寂寞，与丈夫的关系有名无份。申宰后来发现丈夫有外遇，而对方更穿著自己的蓝色皮鞋。申宰在忍无可忍之下，索性带同女儿离家出走，从此展开新生活。

感情受创的申宰，偶然遇上室内设计师曹寅哲，萌生爱意。一天申宰在地铁拾到一对漂亮的红鞋子，带回家后悉心保管，更不准女儿触摸。喜欢跳芭蕾舞的泰秀因技不如人，常被同学们取笑，但当她穿了那双红鞋子后，舞艺却突飞猛进，行为态度亦同时变得古怪。两母女因为这对鞋，关系亦每况愈下，后来申宰的朋友金美喜偷去红鞋子，却不幸死于非命。泰秀重拾这对红鞋后，也同样遇上意外。此时申宰开始担心自己和女儿安危，更怀疑是这对红鞋子令怪事缠身，誓要追查真相。
