讲述高丽时代女中豪杰千秋太后为实现收复故土这一远大理想,同姜邯赞和徐熙一同对抗契丹的故事。剧中场面金戈铁马,气势恢宏,宫廷斗争和沙场征战的场面都能在剧中看到。当时他们把儒教作为国家的统治理念,因此不断地妨碍和阻止千秋太后的理想,破坏了千秋太后的人生。虽然与千秋太后的信念不同,但是他们的理想也充分地体现了其有的价值。千秋太后主张宁肯引发战争也要扩张领土,作为和平主义者的他们则认为战争是最让百姓变得不幸的罪魁祸首。
