1950年6月25日凌晨4點，朝鮮戰爭爆發。北韓軍隊全副武裝以坡州為攻佔點，正式攻陷南韓。正當南韓軍節節敗退，第三次世界大戰正要爆發時，聯合國為避免最壞的情況發生，派遣了聯合國軍隊進駐南韓，欲將戰爭範圍控制在朝鮮半島。集聚洛東江畔的南韓軍隊，嚴正等待聯合國軍到來，以決死一戰。 姜錫大所帶領的部隊此時接獲命令前往洛東江集合的，然此時浦項已成了戰爭最前線，絕對不能撤守。姜錫大最後決定留派71名學生兵來守衛浦項，可是，這些學生兵卻連用槍都不太熟。眼看僅僅草率訓練，71名少年就要上戰場，相繼軍人和難民紛紛離去之後，少年們還被蒙在鼓裡，完全不知事態的嚴重與可怕。 此時，北朝鮮突擊隊長樸武郎帶領著人民軍766游擊隊，違逆上級指示，一心要拿下浦項市，孰料，71名學生兵，竟初生之犢不畏虎，決心奮力反攻司令部…。
