【三騎士】是繼１９４３年的動畫紀錄片【致候吾友】之後，華特迪士尼再度拍了一部介紹中南美洲的動畫片。本片仍然是以唐老鴨為主角，敘述他在生日時收到由拉丁美洲寄來的禮物，然後再次享受了一趟快樂旅程。本片共包括三個段落，前兩段落是兩個拉丁民族流傳的故事，第三部分就純粹是一趟旅遊記趣，也是本片最長的一段落，唐老鴨跟好朋友一同遊遍巴西和墨西哥，許多場景還是真人和動畫同時演出的。而所謂的【三騎士】分別是指唐老鴨以及來自巴西的鸚鵡 Jose Carioca，他與唐老鴨是在【致候吾友】片中就已經認識；還有一位則是來自墨西哥的公雞 Panchito。其中唐老鴨與巴西的 Jose Carioca 在後來１９４８年的動畫電影【旋律時光】中再度一同出現，還一同跳了一段森巴舞。
