The year is Correct Century 2345. The civilization of Earth is at about the level it was during World War I. Long ago, humanity traveled through space, but the people of Earth have long forgotten about that. However, an advanced civilization still exists in cities on the moon, and now this Moonrace, in desperate need of resources, sets its sights back on its home planet. 时间是2345年春天，故事主角是罗南．西亚，本为「月之民」。两年前，罗南十五岁的时候，他和两位朋友──杰斯和法兰一起到达地球，目的是试验地球是否适合「月之民」生存。罗南到达地球后遇到夏姆两姐妹，得到她们的帮助并在矿场工作，渐渐适应了地球的生活，亦对绿草如茵，充滿生机的环境喜爱万分。后来，Moon Race于成人节当日举行归还工作，以40米高的机械人入侵地球，但地球武器落后，景況堪虞，此时，罗南被从石像中破出的机动战士呼唤，于是登上驾驶仓，并展开了漫长的战路……
