To Wai-tat directed this ultra-low-budget action film produced in China by Sam Po Film, a Hong Kong independent studio well-known for the abysmal quality of its cheaply made quickies. Willie Chi stars as Rocky, an American martial-arts student who leaves San Francisco for the famous Shaolin temple, where he proves his kung-fu prowess by dodging the abbot's mystical laser beams -- yes, laser beams -- and performing other feats of skill. Rocky is then allowed to join the Shaolin as a student, and later helps the monks defeat a gang of thieves, led by the evil Pao (Yu Rong-guang), who wants to steal an invaluable Flying Horse statue from the temple.

The film's centerpiece is a display of kung-fu acumen by the 18 juvenile monks of the title, covered in gold body makeup and exhibiting such questionable techniques as the Chastity Dynamo, which doesn't look nearly as painful as it sounds. Cherie Chan co-stars with the usual suspects including William Ho, Billy Chow, and the ubiquitous Shing Fui-on.

美裔华侨杨洛基喜爱中国功夫，其师金贵祥临终时告诉他可以至少林寺学武，并请他取回从前遗失的信物。初至少林寺，金的师弟元空法师以各种方式测验洛的功夫，洛独以十八小铜人一关未过。

　　昔日少林寺中有一幅藏宝图分为三份，一在元空法师、一在已还俗的奸商无为大师、一在还俗师弟静念之女小红手中。无为现在正在寻找小红，欲夺回藏宝图。

　　生性活泼的小红如今当上修女，更兼职推销推销西式棺木。无为得知后，向不知情的小红订了一付棺木，并指定送至少林寺，此时无为出现欲杀元空，洛及时救了元空。

　　小红回到教堂即被追杀，遂躲至避难，一场少林寺浴血战于是展开，而小红与洛的感情又会有怎样的变化呢？
